About Being in it Together
Being In It Together is a counselling and psychotherapy practice built around relationship, depth, and honesty.
We are not here to fix people, manage symptoms, or offer polished reassurance. We work with what is real, often difficult, and deeply human.
The practice is a partnership between David Edwards and Jacqui Vickery. We work differently, bring different strengths, and hold a shared commitment to therapy that is relational, thoughtful, and alive.
Why we work together
Being In It Together is not two private practices sharing a logo. It is a deliberately relational way of working.
Working as a partnership allows us to think together, challenge each other, and stay accountable to the quality of the work. It means our practice is not shaped by one voice, one bias, or one blind spot.
For clients, this shows up as depth, care, and steadiness. For us, it means the work stays alive, reflective, and grounded.

What matters to us in therapy
At Being In It Together, we don’t rely on labels, techniques, or charts. We believe that therapy is, first and foremost, a meeting between human beings. Healing happens not through rigid frameworks
Relationship First
We believe therapy happens in relationship. What unfolds between people matters as much as what is said. We pay attention to tone, silence, emotion, and the moments where something real is happening.
Depth Over Performance
We are not interested in helping people perform wellness or appear functional. We care about meaning, identity, shame, love, grief, and the parts of life that do not resolve neatly.
Honesty and Presence
We work actively and honestly. We do not hide behind professional distance or neutrality. If something matters, we will name it and explore it together.
The People Behind The Practice
Jacqui Vickery
Jacqui is particularly drawn to couples work and the lived reality of relationship. She focuses on emotional patterns, attachment, repair, and the places couples lose and find each other again.
David Edwards
David focuses primarily on individual therapy, working with identity, meaning, stuckness, and the stories people live inside. His style is reflective, direct, and relational.
Our Approach
Our work is rooted in relational, existential, and depth-oriented psychotherapy. That means we care less about techniques and more about how you experience yourself, others, and the world.
We are interested in patterns that repeat, moments that carry weight, and the places where people feel stuck, split, or unseen. Therapy with us is often slower, more reflective, and more demanding than surface-level approaches, but many people find it more meaningful and lasting.
Our Qualifications and Registrations
We are both fully insured, accredited and qualified counsellors.
We are registered members of NCPS.
We both trained with the University of Worcester, gaining an FdA in Integrative Counselling.
