MNCPS Integrative Counsellors/Therapists
David Edwards and Jacqui Vickery
We are Jacqui and David. We met when we were training as therapists and soon discovered that we have a shared fascination with what it means to be alive, what makes a life well lived and how therapy can help with that. Therapy is more than a job or occupation to us, it is a way of life, a way that we can share the authenticity, engagement and understanding of life that we have gained for ourselves not just from our training but our own life’s challenges and trials.
We made Being in it Together to create a place where people could come and know that they will be met by another very real human being that knows what it is to have been in the clients chair and dedicates their life to understanding how best to help their clients make the changes they want, find meaning, turn up more wholly for their life.
You can find out more about our approach to therapy and us below. We are both individually accredited members of the NCPS. Our website, like life, is a work in progress, we hope you enjoy looking around and will bare with the unfinished bits.
A space just for you created with either Jacqui or David. Show up however you are and meet with another human. Get to know yourself, make the changes you want and be who really are.
£55-95 per session. Online or in person in Bishops Lydeard, near Taunton.
David’s group sessions are a really positive space. He creates a safe, supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable opening up and learning from each other. I’m incredibly grateful for the progress I’ve made with David’s help and would highly recommend his group therapy to anyone looking for real, meaningful change.

My husband and I have been working with our Jacqui for over 6 months now, and we can honestly say it has been an incredibly positive and transformative experience for our relationship. From the very first session, we felt heard, understood, and supported in a completely non‑judgemental space. Jacqui has helped us communicate more openly and effectively, understand each other’s perspectives with greater compassion, and break old patterns that were holding us back. The guidance has been both gentle and practical, giving us tools we can use every day. We’re genuinely closer, stronger, and happier as a couple because of this process. We are so grateful for the positive impact this counselling has had on our relationship and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to reconnect, grow, or simply strengthen their partnership.

David is an honest, down-to-earth and approachable therapist who has helped us immensely to guide us through some difficult challenges in our lives.
At every stage he has shown compassion and genuine interest in the root of points of conflict, and has helped us to show ourselves and others more kindness and love.
We have been allowed to share openly and be heard with patience, and he will often go out of his way to accommodate your specific therapy needs. He will (politely) call you out when you may not be being genuine with yourself or others, and this often leads to seeking truth in yourself with ease.
He has helped us to learn so much about ourselves and I have no doubt that we will continue to carry our own life-lessons and personal growth with us for the rest of our lives.
He is an exceptional therapist and a lovely person inside and out- we have a huge amount of respect for him! Can’t recommend him enough.

I started seeing Jacqui at a difficult time in my life when I was facing a lot of loss and change. She instantly made me feel so comfortable, and provided a really safe space to explore more about myself and my life. She was so friendly, professional, insightful, calming, and we formed a connection so easily. She is so perceptive and compassionate, and was able to guide me to understand things that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. It really felt like I was able to talk to her about anything and everything, and that we would face it together. I got so much more than I ever thought I could out of therapy, and it has really changed my life. She is fantastic, and I am very grateful for the year that we have spent together. I cannot recommend her enough

When my husband and I first met David, I was feeling nervous and unsure about starting therapy. From the very beginning, he made me feel welcome, comfortable, and at ease. He has such a calm and compassionate presence, and he helped me truly understand the benefits of having someone who can mediate, listen, and gently guide you toward a better understanding of yourself and your relationships.
Our sessions with David have been incredibly valuable. He supported us through open and honest conversations, helped us gain clarity, and brought new light and perspective back into our lives. We are so grateful for his guidance and care, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone considering therapy

David, has changed my life by teaching me how to look at things that have been conditioned in my brain for many years in a different way!
He doesn’t mince his words and says it how he sees it ….which suits my style or communication and thinking !
He listens, challenges and debates the outcome.
I only wanted to be a 5.1 in my mood, but now regularly I’m a 7.5-8 ( David you know that that means!)
Could not recommend him highly enough !
