Individual Therapy in Bishops Lydeard and Online

We offer depth-oriented, relational therapy for people who feel empty, lost, or disconnected from themselves, others, or life itself, and who are searching for a more authentic and whole way of living.

What individual therapy with us is for

Most people do not come to therapy because they lack information. They come because something in their life has stopped feeling real, connected, or liveable.

That can show up as emptiness, anxiety, grief, loss of direction, relationship patterns you cannot escape, or the sense that you are living on the surface of your own life.

Our work is depth-oriented in the simple sense that we do not skim over what matters. We slow down, tell the truth, and pay attention to what is happening between us in the room, because that is often where the real material lives.

This may be for you if

  • You feel flat, numb, or disconnected, even when things look fine from the outside.
  • You are carrying grief, shame, or a story you have never fully told.
  • You feel stuck in overthinking, self criticism, or anxiety.
  • You keep repeating the same patterns in relationships, work, or self sabotage.
  • You feel spiritually or existentially unmoored, unsure what matters anymore.

What Makes Our Work Different

Relational and Present

We don’t sit back and interpret you from a distance. Therapy is a relationship, and we use what happens between us as part of the work. If something feels difficult, charged, or unclear, we bring it into the room.

Direct, not Neutral

We are honest and engaged. We don’t hide behind silence or professional detachment. If something isn’t working, we say so and explore why together.

Depth Without Jargon

We care about meaning, identity, love, fear, shame, grief, and purpose. We don’t reduce you to diagnoses or techniques, and we don’t bury the work under theory.

Willing to Slow Things Down

We are more likely to slow you down than speed you up. Change often comes from staying with what you usually rush past or avoid.

What sessions are like

Relational and direct

We are active, present, and honest. Therapy is a relationship, not a service delivered to you from a safe distance.

Depth without jargon

We care about meaning, identity, grief, love, fear, and the parts of life that shape you. We do not reduce you to a set of symptoms or hacks.

A wider lens

Disconnection is not only internal. It can be disconnection from others, from the world, from purpose, from spirituality, or from life itself. We work across those levels.

Not sure this is what you need? If you are considering a lower-cost option, we also run group therapy. See current groups.

Choose who you work with

Individual therapy is offered by both of us. Some people feel a clear pull toward one person. Others want the first available slot. Either way, the process starts with a free 20-minute consultation.

Jacqui Vickery

Jacqui is particularly drawn to couples work and the lived reality of relationship. She focuses on emotional patterns, attachment, repair, and the places couples lose and find each other again.

David Edwards

David focuses primarily on individual therapy, working with identity, meaning, stuckness, and the stories people live inside. His style is reflective, direct, and relational.
