What We Do
We offer counselling in person and online in three different ways.
Why People Come
- You feel lost, empty or disconnected.
- Relationships feel difficult or painful.
- You keep repeating the same patterns.
- Life feels flat or lacks meaning.
- You’re unsure who you really are.
How We Work
- We speak plainly and honestly
- We pay attention to what happens between us in the room
- We challenge where it is appropriate
- We care about meaning, not just symptom reduction
- We build a relationship you can rely on
What Makes Us Different
We do not offer formula therapy, quick fixes, or surface-level reassurance.
Our work is relational and depth-oriented. That means the relationship itself matters, difficulty is not rushed away, and we pay attention to what happens between us in the room.
We will be honest with you, challenge you when it helps, and stay with you through complexity rather than simplifying it too quickly.
- You are tired of repeating the same patterns
- You want more than coping strategies
- You are willing to be honest, even when it is uncomfortable
- You want therapy that takes you seriously as a person
If you are looking for techniques only or short-term symptom management, we may not be the right fit.
How it Works
Most people start within 1-2 weeks of first contact.
Location
We are based in Bishops Lydeard, near Taunton, Somerset. In-person sessions take place locally, with parking available. Online therapy is available across the UK.

Our Story & Approach To Therapy
We’re Jacqui and David, and we created Being in it Together because we wholeheartedly believe in the transformative power of good therapy. Our shared passion for counselling brought us together, giving you the option of working one-to-one with either of us—or benefiting from both our perspectives in group sessions.
We don’t practice behavioral therapy. We find that life can slip away when we become too fixated on “what” we’re doing and “how” we’re doing it—when “I should do this, I should do that” becomes all we hear. Of course, our actions matter, but they can drown out the deeper experience of simply being. Our approach is about returning to that sense of presence, which is why we call it Being in it Together.
